Monster.

I finally added the monster! The mammalian beast was based on a wolf and I like the expression on the face so far, will probably touch it up at some point.

Also, I added some texture on the walls and stalactites to the left. Not as exciting as the beast.

Cave

Small update: I decided to address this area. I gave the cave wall a little more texture and I'm pleased with the results so far but I don't know how I feel about the detail on that orange/yellow stalagmite. Actually I do know, I don't like it.

First glimpse of my Painting. In this stage I'm still at a point where I'm not quite sure how I want to address the piece. Early layering. Could go more impressionistic or more detailed.
I don't want photorealism but I want to capture some of the detail in the photo. Decisions.

(Painting 2) Work for the semester

For the remainder of the semester I will seek to create fantastic imagery. That is to say, images and worlds born from my own imagination.
For these images I am interested in using real world locations to aid my inspiration

My first painting in this series is inspired by this cave in Predjama castle in Slovenia
